Rituals and Circle Casting

     Rituals are ways to focus energy and to bring about desired results.  A ritual can be something as simple as a prayer, or lighting a candle in honor of life.  There are many different types of rituals, and many different styles.  Although I wish I did not have to say this, under no circumstances should any animals or other living creatures be used in ritual.  When one thinks of ritual, sacrifice is one of the first things that comes to mind.  Sacrifice can be an extremely effective way of focusing and drawing up energy.  Human and animal sacrifices are not the type of sacrifice we are talking about.  One good type of sacrifice that can be used is fasting.  Fasting is a way of cleansing the body of built up toxins, and also it shows a certain level of determination to our creator.  Meditation should be forefront when looking for ways to perform rituals or spell casting.

     Traditionally rituals are used to help align oneself with mother nature.  Bringing in the new seasons, and even the new year.  Many different religions around the world perform traditions each year in order to celebrate life, and the rituals of a Wiccan or Pagan are no different.  Always remember that whatever the ritual you are trying to perform, respect to our Grande creator should always be top priority.

     Some perform ritual in groups and others do not.  Don't ever feel pressured to join any circle or group.  If that is to occur it will naturally happen.  Many people also use tools during ritual.  Even the Catholic church uses tools in their rituals. 

 Although tools are sometimes necessary, they are not always.  Tools can help to focus energy, after all that is what we are trying to do.  Tools are mainly used to direct the energy in a certain direction.  They also are symbolic and help to draw certain energies near.  When performing ritual, don't worry too much if you make mistakes. Correct them if you need to, but don't let that accidental misplacement of ritual items stand in the way of your energy raising.  Our creator knows that we make mistakes, and he will allow for them.  Now this does not mean that you should not prepare for your ritual.  Preparing for the ritual is actually the most important part.  Fasting, gathering necessary items, and execution are all extremely important.  Mediation will help tremendously when preparing for a ritual.  Timing is also very important.  Certain days are stronger then others for certain energies. Depending on your level of commitment, rituals can be one of the most beautiful experiences you can ever hope to have. The more time and especially effort you put into your rituals the more they will pay off in the long run.
