Reflections of Spirit
As the summer months slowly give way to
autumn a softening feel of peace and reflection begin to seep into our
souls. Now is the time when days begin to shorten and nights get a
little colder. Autumn brings reflections of the past and memories of
loved ones who have already moved beyond. It is the season for reaping
and gathering what we have sown for the long winter ahead. As we move
into the fall season it is time to make peace with our past and look
ahead into the future. If you look deep enough you can resolve almost
any issues that may be holding you back. Some suggest reflecting only
on the year past but I challenge you to look further and truly make a
change. Dig out long ill-fated roots endlessly holding you back. Make
amends with old friends and loved ones that you may have parted with on bad
terms. Root out old habits causing bad health and unnecessary pain.
Break the repetitious cycles that continuously bind your progress. It
is time to pass judgment upon ourselves and prepare for a long needed
rest.
Memories
of loved ones passed will also begin to rise. Remember to honor their
spirits and make peace with their departure. As you visit their
memorials remember it is a place of honor and beauty. It is a place to
remember their presence and all the blessings they have bestowed upon your life.
Remember the good times and release the bad. Make your best effort to
find and give forgiveness and make peace with your soul. Autumn is the
time for change so bring out the beautiful you’ve been holding inside.
Above all else find some time to spend with nature and reflect on your
soul.
Whether we
like it or not our lives will soon begin to slow. As winter starts to
set in our everyday routines will become more challenging to complete and demand
that we take our time. Try to accommodate the season by reducing
unnecessary tasks and spending time on simpler things. Many of us will
try to fight the season and start rushing to get things accomplished.
Try reducing your activities and allowing more time to get the important
things done. Reduce your thoughts on work and spend more of your time
at home trying to relax. Release your worries and fears on your
everyday routines and simply enjoy what life has given you. Bring home
some nice wildflowers for your partner, family, or yourself that you
picked from a long walk in the woods. Order some take-out and spend
some time looking at and acknowledging your child’s work accomplished at
school. Go through some old photo albums and remember and reflect on
the good times that have passed. Begin shopping for the winter season early so you
can really enjoy the experience rather then being rushed. Overall
listen to what life is telling you and take time to enjoy the experience
that is all around us.
